Chamomile is a flowering plant in the daisy family. According to traditional Chinese medical practice, daisy flowers, including chamomile, have cooling properties. This cooling effect makes it an excellent remedy for fevers and inflammation. The flowers are often used to treat various symptoms that caused by liver inflammation and gallbladder disease. In traditional Chinese medical theory, a symptom could be caused by different diseases or disorders, therefore, treating the disease can be more effective to improve the symptom than only relieving the symptom. Many health conditions, like fever, high blood pressure, anxiety, insomnia, menstrual disorders, indigestion, eye diseases and skin problems could be caused by liver inflammation and gallbladder disease. When you treat liver and gallbladder problems, it may naturally relieve those symptoms.
For example, many eye diseases are caused by liver problems. Since daisy flowers have cooling effect to reduce liver inflammation, therefore it can relieve symptoms of the eye diseases, from conjunctivitis and eye inflammation to dry eyes and reddening.
To make chamomile tea, steep 1 tablespoon of chamomile flowers per cup of water. Leave for 15 minutes. Drink two times a day.
