Jeevani can be used for anti stress, anti-fatigue and immune enhancing.

Jeevani is a herbal formula. The name “Jeevani” means “giver of life” or “source of life”. Jeevani is promoted as an energizer, invigorator, tonic, rejuvenator, and immune-enhancer. According to the indications, Jeevani has adaptogenic properties, and is used to build up vitality and regain health after illness. It has effects to improve exhaustion fatigue, overexertion, feeling of weakness, and mental stress.

Jeevani is made from Ayurvedic herbs. The ingredients of Jeevani include:

– Arogyapacha (Trichopus zeylanicus)
– Ashwagandha (Withania somnifera)
– Shankhpushpi (Evolvus alsinoides)
– Pippali (Piper longum)

There is a version of Jeevani containing Shankhapushpi (Convolvulus pluricaulis).

Arogyappacha is the primary herb in the formula. It is a traditional medicinal herb and used by Kani tribe, who lives in the tropical forests of the Agasthyamalai hills of the Western Ghats, a mountain range in Kerala state, India. The Kani has a rich tradition of using wild plants found in the region for health care. The tribes people chew the small green berries of arogyappacha to boost their energy.

TBGRI (the Tropical Botanical Garden and Research Institute) in Palode is home to a world-class collection of tropical medicinal plants, and is a research institute on the specific uses and benefits of many south Indian plant species. The scientists in TBGRI discovered that the plant (particularly the fruit and leaves) has anti-stress and immune-stimulating properties, and it also boosts stamina, relieves fatigue, helps control tumors and activates the body’s natural defenses and cellular immune system.

Scientific studies have showed that the leaf of Arogyappacha (Trichopus zeylanicus) contains flavonoid glycosides, glycolipids and some other non-steroidal compounds with profound adaptogenic and immmuno-enhancing properties. The fruits showed mainly anti-fatigue properties.

Jeevani has been sold as a health supplement since 1995. The product comes in granules. You take a half-teaspoon of this and mix it in hot water or hot milk and drink it.
