Shingles can be treated with oatmeal, apple cider vinegar and cayenne pepper.
Shingles (Herpes zoster, zoster, zona) is a skin disease characterized by skin rash. This disease is different from eczema and common rash:
– It is painful;
– The rash appears in the form of stripes;
– The blisters usually appear on one side of the body.
Scientists believe that this disease is related to the immune system. But the exact mechanism is still unknown. All they know for now is that herpes zoster is more likely to occur in people whose immune system is impaired due to aging.
There are some home remedies that may help relieve the symptoms of shingles:
1. Oatmeal
– Add 1-2 cups of dry uncooked oatmeal to a food processor (coffee grinder, blender) and blend until the oatmeal becomes a fine powder. Store the powder in a bottle for later use.
– Add 1-2 tablespoons of the oatmeal powder into a bowl
– Add some water to the bowl to make a fine paste
– Apply it to the affected area
2. Apple cider vinegar
– External Use: Apply apple cider vinegar to the affected area, 3-4 times a day
– Internal Use: Add two tablespoons of apple cider vinegar to 1 cup of water and drink it, twice a day
3. Cayenne Pepper
– Cayenne pepper powder 1/8 – 1/4 teaspoon
– Aloe vera gel 1 tablespoon
– Mix them well and apply to the affected area
