Alfalfa (Lucerne, Medicago sativa) is a flowering plant widely grown throughout the world and used as feed for cattle.
In Chinese herbal medicine texts, alfalfa has effects to clear dampness-heat in spleen, stomach and kidney. It can be used as a diuretic to treat kidney stones, urinary stones, bladder stones, and edema, especially for treating Uric acid stones.
How to use alfalfa for kidney stone, urinary stone, bladder stone and edema:
1. Fresh alfalfa
– Use 150-250 grams of fresh alfalfa
– Rinse it in water
– Use an electric juicer (or a blender)
– Feed alfalfa into the juicer to make the juice
– Drink it, twice a day
2. Dried alfalfa
– Take 10-30 grams of dried alfalfa powder
– Consume it with a cup of water
– Twice a day
