Slippery Elm has moistening, cleansing, soothing and astringent properties. It can be used in a facial mask to help treat cracked, cut and itchy skin, or reduce redness or rosacea.
How to make a facial mask with slippery elm and green clay
– Slippery elm powder 1 table spoon
– Water 1/2 cup of water
– Green clay 1 table spoon
– Add the powder and water into a small pot
– Bring to a boil, and simmer for 30 minutes
– Strain and leave for cool
– Mix the extract with the green clay to make a mask paste
– Apply a coat of the paste over the face and allow it to soak into the skin for 30-45 minutes
– Wash off with pure water
