Flax Seed (or flax, flaxseed) is said to help fight against cancer, particularly breast cancer, prostate cancer, and colon cancer.

Studies suggest that flax seeds taken in the diet may benefit patients with certain types of breast and prostate cancers. Scientists found that flax seed contains alpha linolenic acid (ALA), a plant omega-3 fatty acid, which inhibits tumor incidence and growth, and decreases inflammation in animal study. Each tablespoon of flax seeds contain about 1.8 grams of plant omega-3 fatty acid.

Flax seed also contains lignans, which have estrogen and antioxidant properties. Some scientists believe that, lignans may help fight against breast cancer, and inscrease the survival of breast cancer patients by blocking enzymes that are involved in hormone metabolism, and interfering with the growth and spread of tumor cells.flaxseeds cancer treatment
